How to make a dirt bike in Roblox with wheelies that feel real

by 8rc1 · updated 24 Oct 2026

Roblox's built-in vehicle seat makes a car-shaped box. A bike needs more: it leans, it pops wheelies, it scrapes, it crashes. Here's what goes into one that feels right.

Drive it from a script, not from constraints

Hinge and spring constraints jitter and flip at low frame rates. Run the bike's physics yourself in a fixed step (raycast wheels, your own suspension springs, your own grip) so it behaves the same at 60 fps and at 15 fps on a cheap phone.

Lean is what makes it a bike

Lean the bike and rider into a turn based on speed and steering, and let the lean drive the turn, not the other way around. A bike that turns flat looks like a car on two wheels.

Wheelies need a balance point

Hold the wheelie button and the front lifts. Past a balance angle the bike wants to keep going over; under it, it wants to drop. The player rides that edge with the throttle. Push too far and the tail scrapes the road with sparks. That edge is the whole game.

Crashes that don't punish

Hit something hard, ragdoll for a second, and you're back on the bike in two seconds. Long respawns make people quit.

Skip the build

The Dirt Bike has wheelie to scrape, real lean, a hand plant when you slide it, crashes, and keyboard, controller trigger and phone controls, with every setting in one Config module.

Questions

How do I make a motorcycle in Roblox?

Drive it from a script with raycast wheels and your own suspension and grip in a fixed physics step, lean the bike into turns based on speed, and add a wheelie with a balance point. Vanta Systems' Dirt Bike is a ready-made version.

How do I make a wheelie system in Roblox?

Lift the front wheel while a button is held, and give the bike a balance angle: past it the bike keeps rotating back, under it the front drops. The player holds the wheelie with throttle, and going too far makes the tail scrape.
